Classes – ATM awareness through movement

  • Monday 9.30-11am, Zoom online class
  • Friday 9-10,30am, in person class – Banchory Deeside Dance Centre

Each class (one hour and half long) includes a theoretical contribution (from anatomy, philosophy, anthropology and art) and autobiographical practices for fostering pathways of self-discovery. Suitable for everybody wanting to improve posture and develop deeper awareness. People with lower degree of movement and with fragile functional conditions can take great benefit of the method.

See here for general information about ATMs.

Workshops – ATM awareness through movement

  • Sundays, in person – Banchory Deeside Dance Centre

Each workshop is organised through different practices: Feldenkrais lessons of movement ATM (Awareness Through Movement®), an anatomical background, inspiration from philosophy, anthropology and art (generally through videos), autobiographical practices (eg. automatic writing, haikus). Differently from weekly classes, workshops include more than one ATM class and the space for deepening the learning through an in person sharing and “Around the fire” conversation.

Both classes and workshops are usually framed within a theme which is exploratory research investigating other ways for being human.

One to one – Functional Integration® and biographical analysis (Philo)

I offer sessions of Functional Integration (hands on) to address individual needs, conditions and desires. These sessions might include biographical analysis through movement (see Abof). Indeed, in movement is entangled a transformative process of the entire self, as self is primarily kinesthetic. Through this way of doing Functional integrations, I will guide and follow you in your autobiographical path of self-discovery and healing through movement.

In fact, from my point of view, helping someone to recover means to help them to find their own narrative and capacity for stories because as Margaret Hannah suggests “recovery is not simply about function and the activities of daily living, but about personhood, identity, self-worth” (Margaret Hannah, Humanising Health Care, page 91-2014).

My individual Feldenkrais sessions could help you focus on the existential need for value and purpose in life as well as functional improvement.
